What Are People Saying?
Creators were not enthusiastic about the update and raised concerns about losing traffic to it. Once completed, Ollie Ryman confirmed he experienced traffic loss.
You've made it worse, seeing an increase in cloaking sites on the first page since this completed. My traffic dropped yesterday because of it. It wasn't actually too bad before.

Glenn Gabe suggested the update was targeted at sites that used spammy techniques to appear on generative AI systems. He also predicted that Google may release a core update once this spam update was completed.
Glenn’s prediction was accurate, as Google released the March 2026 Core Update on March 27, 2026, two days after completing the March 2026 Spam Update.
Also wouldn't surprise me to see a broad core update right after the spam update. We'll see. 🙂 https://t.co/tXmc5rDFRM
