What is a Silo Structure?
Silo structure is a way of organizing a website by grouping related content together and linking only the content within the group. In this case, the site following a silo structure will only provide internal and external links to content closely related to that topic.
For example, a health site may contain articles on exercise and supplements. If it follows a silo structure, then an article about a supplement will only link to other articles on supplements. Similarly, an article about an exercise will only link to other articles on exercising.
The entire concept of Silo structure is a hot topic in SEO. While some SEOs claim that siloing works, others insist that it limits the potential of a site and may even affect its rankings.
