What are Local Citations?
Local citations refer to online references of a business’s name, address, and phone number (NAP). The reference could be made on various online platforms, including business directories, Yellow Pages, review sites, social media, blogs, news sites, and mapping and navigation apps.
The platform where the reference is made needs to mention all three details for it to be considered a local citation. When the citation includes one or two but not all three details, we say the business got a partial citation.
Local citations are important to Local SEO and are believed to be a ranking factor. They signal to search engines that your business is legitimate and can be trusted. They also help search engines verify the accuracy and consistency of your business information.
