What is Organic Traffic?
Organic traffic refers to visitors who arrive at your site from unpaid search results. In other words, it is the search traffic you did not pay for.
Search engine results pages (SERPs) contain two types of results:
- Organic results
- Inorganic results
Inorganic results are the advertisements displayed on the search results page. They are displayed at the top of the page and are often marked ‘Sponsored.’ They are also called paid results.
Organic results, on the other hand, are the unpaid results on search results pages. These results may be displayed as a rich result, as shown below.
Organic results may also be displayed as the regular blue link result, as shown below.
The traffic from organic results is considered organic traffic. This traffic is driven by the site’s SEO efforts. This makes it valuable as it indicates the site ranks well in search engine results.
