You know how sometimes you’re tweaking your blog post, and you think, “This paragraph feels a bit off… maybe I should rewrite it… or simplify it… or ugh, let me open this tool.”
Now imagine if all those little improvements, such as grammar fixes, rewrites, summaries, and even analogies, could be done right inside your editor. No more switching between tabs or opening multiple tools.
That’s exactly what Command Center inside Content AI is built for.
In this knowledgebase article, we’ll show you exactly how to use Content AI’s Command Center, what each option does, and how it fits seamlessly into your content workflow.
1 What is the Command Center?
The Command Center is a quick-access writing assistant built right into Rank Math’s Content AI. When you click or highlight any text block in the WordPress editor, a floating toolbar appears, with powerful commands to instantly improve your writing.
It’s just like having Grammarly built into your editor, but more tailored for SEO content creation.
You can use it when you’re:
- Editing long blog posts that need clarity
- Summarizing complex sections for easier understanding
- Proofreading and correcting the grammatical errors in your articles
- Rewriting paragraphs to match SEO intent or tone
The bottom line? It saves time and makes your writing sharper, without leaving the editor.
2 How to Access the Command Center
Since the Command Center is part of Rank Math’s Content AI, you’ll need to install and set up Rank Math first on your site. Once that’s done, here’s how to access it:
2.1 Enable the Content AI Module
Go to Rank Math SEO → Dashboard from your WordPress admin. Find the Content AI module and enable it, as shown below.

2.2 Open the Command Center
Now, head over to the WordPress block editor on any post or page.
Click or highlight any block of text, and you’ll see a small Content AI icon appear in the floating toolbar. That’s the Command Center. Click it, and the available commands will pop up:

- Run as Command
- Write More
- Improve
- Summarize
- Write Analogy
- Fix Grammar
You can also press //
on your keyboard to trigger the Command box instantly.
Note: The Command Center doesn’t work in the Classic Editor—it’s only available in the Block Editor for now.
3 How to Use the Content AI Commands
Let’s quickly walk through what each command does. But before we dive in, make sure you have enough Content AI credits. If you’re running low, you can easily subscribe to a plan that fits your needs.
3.1 Run as Command
This lets you treat any selected text as a prompt.
To use it, highlight a heading, sentence, or block of text, click the Content AI icon, and choose Run as Command. Content AI will use that text as a prompt to generate a relevant response, like expanding on an idea, answering a question, or rewriting it entirely.

It’s great when you don’t feel like crafting a detailed prompt but want to expand an idea, answer a question, or polish a rough draft.
3.2 Write More
When you’re stuck mid-thought or just want to add more depth to a section, Write More gives your content a natural continuation.
To use it, highlight where you want to pick up from, click the Content AI icon, and select Write More. It’ll extend the idea while keeping the tone and context intact.

This is great for blog sections, explanations, or anytime you need a little push to keep going.
3.3 Improve
Use Improve to polish rough or clunky text. Maybe a sentence doesn’t quite sound right or just needs tightening.
To use it, highlight the section, click Improve, and Content AI will rework it, enhancing clarity, tone, and structure while preserving your original meaning.

Instead of spending 10 minutes refining one line, you’ll have a smoother version in seconds.
3.4 Summarize
Summarize condenses lengthy or complex content into something more easily digestible.
Simply highlight the paragraph or section, click Summarize, and Content AI will generate a clean, concise version.

It’s especially helpful for intros, technical explanations, or making content more skimmable.
3.5 Write Analogy
When you want to explain a tricky concept in a more relatable way, Write Analogy comes in handy.
Just highlight your sentence, click Analogy, and Content AI will rewrite it using a comparison, making abstract ideas easier to understand. This can come in the form of familiar instances, scenarios, or things you can relate to.

It’s especially useful for educational or explainer content, where clarity matters most.
3.6 Fix Grammar
If something feels off or you’re unsure it’s grammatically right, just highlight the sentence and click Fix Grammar. Content AI will clean up spelling, punctuation, and structure while preserving your tone.

It’s perfect when you’re drafting fast and don’t want to slow down to proofread every line.
Remember, as you use the Command Center, you’ll also notice that every time Content AI generates a response, it offers three button options: Use, Regenerate, and Write More.
Clicking Use inserts the result into your editor immediately. Regenerate gives you a different version of the same idea, while Write More expands on it to give you a longer take.

If you don’t like what you see, just click the three dots in the WordPress block toolbar and hit Delete to remove it from your post.

Sometimes, one command isn’t enough. You might use Write More to expand a thought, then follow it up with Improve to refine it. That combo can work beautifully, but try not to go overboard.
These tools are designed to assist your writing, not take over. Once your draft feels solid, rely on your own edits to keep it sounding like you. Over-polishing can make your content lose that natural, human touch, and that’s the last thing your readers want.
