What is an Orphan Page?
An orphan page is a webpage that is not linked to from any other page on the same site.
Orphan pages are problematic for SEO, especially considering how search engines find new pages.
Search engines find new pages by following the links to those pages. For example, when a search engine crawler arrives at a webpage, it takes note of the links on the page and may decide to crawl them.
However, considering orphan pages do not have any links pointing to them, search engines will be unable to find them. In fact, the only way to access an orphan link is to type their URL directly into your address bar.
You can prevent orphan pages by ensuring all essential pages on your website are properly linked internally.
