What is Minification?
Minification is the process of reducing the size of the code by removing and renaming characters. Spaces, comments, delimiters, etc, are removed during minification. Variables and functions are also renamed so that they take up less memory space.
That way, the site’s code weighs less and requires less bandwidth to be transferred from the server to the browser. In Javascript, it improves the performance of the code by reducing the parsing and execution time. This allows the site to load faster than usual.
