What is Faceted Navigation?
Faceted navigation is a feature that allows visitors to filter through the content of a site’s search results, content-heavy pages, and category/archive pages. It is commonly used on ecommerce sites and is typically located in the left sidebar.
Faceted navigation is common on sites where visitors may need to scan hundreds of search results to find the product or service they need. Instead of entering more specific search terms into the search bar, the visitor can select the characteristics of the product they’re looking for from the faceted navigation menu.
Once selected, the page will display the products or services that meet the selected criteria.
