What is Skyscraper Technique?

The Skyscraper technique is a content marketing and link building technique wherein you identify a piece of content that has received many backlinks, create a better version of it, and then request the sites already linking to similar content to link to yours. 

ザ Skyscraper technique was developed by Brian Dean of Backlinko. He promotes it as a great way to get high-quality backlinks. The technique involves creating “linkable assets”, which Brian described as content that is better than the already existing best content.

The skyscraper technique is a three-step process:

1. You identify a linkable asset bloggers already link to
2. You create a linkable asset that is better than that linkable asset
3. You reach out to bloggers linking to that linkable asset & similar content and suggest they link to yours instead
