What is First Contentful Paint (FCP)?
First Contentful Paint (FCP) is the time it takes for the browser to display the first visible element of a webpage after a user requests it.
The element could be a text, image, or background image. It could also be a <svg>
or non-white <canvas>
element.
The First Contentful Paint is one of the metrics used to measure the speed of a webpage. Other metrics include Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) and Time to First Byte (TTFB). That said, Google recommande you keep your First Contentful Paint below 1.8 seconds.
