In the next step, you&#8217;ll see a screen, as shown below. Confirm if the selected project is the one we&#8217;ve created for Instant Indexing API; otherwise, select the drop-down at the top to change the project. Google Service Account\" class=\"wp-image-1029681\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-new-json-key\"><span class=\"number\">3.4<\/span>  Create New JSON Key for Service Account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You will then be taken to the following page, where you can click <strong>Add Key <\/strong>and then select the <strong>Create new key <\/strong>option, as shown below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"1440\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Create-New-Key-for-Service-Account.png\" alt=\"Create new key for Service account\" class=\"wp-image-1029682\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose the default <strong>JSON<\/strong> format when prompted in the overlay, and click <strong>Create<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"718\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Create-JSON-key-for-Service-Account.png\" alt=\"Create JSON Key for Service Account\" class=\"wp-image-1029684\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Upon clicking <strong>Create<\/strong>, the .json file will be automatically downloaded in your browser, meaning you&#8217;ve successfully created the API key &amp; can proceed to the next step&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-service-account\"><span class=\"number\">4<\/span>  Add the Service Account as an Owner of Your Google Search Console Property<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To do this, you&#8217;ll need to register and verify your website with the Google Search Console (if you haven&#8217;t done so already), which is super easy: follow <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/webmasters\/answer\/9008080\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the recommended steps to verify ownership of your property<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"users-and-permissions\"><span class=\"number\">4.1<\/span>  Navigate to Users and Permissions in Google Search Console Settings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After verifying your property, open the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/webmasters\/tools\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google Search Console,<\/a> select your property on the left (if prompted), and then click on <strong>\u8a2d\u5b9a<\/strong> near the bottom:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1236\" height=\"1258\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/settings-google-search-console.jpg\" alt=\"Open settings in Google search console\" class=\"wp-image-1087211\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"takeaway yellow\"><strong>\u30ce\u30fc\u30c8\uff1a<\/strong> If you&#8217;re configuring for a <a href=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/blog\/setup-wordpress-multisite-network\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1274301\">subdomain WordPress Multisite<\/a>, then ensure that you&#8217;ve chosen the domain-level property in Google Search Console. Otherwise, you&#8217;d have to add the service account as the owner separately for each subdomain property.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on <strong>Users and Permissions<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2182\" height=\"776\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/user-permissions.jpg\" alt=\"select user and permissions\" class=\"wp-image-1087212\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-service-account-user\"><span class=\"number\">4.2<\/span>  Add User to Your Search Console Property<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Click on the three dots next to your account, and then click on <strong>Add User.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2122\" height=\"1010\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/add-user-gsc.jpeg\" alt=\"Add user in Users and permissions\" class=\"wp-image-1321514\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"delegate-service-account-id-owner\"><span class=\"number\">4.3<\/span>  Delegate Service Account ID as Owner<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A popup will now appear. Enter the <strong>Service account ID<\/strong> (the one you copied out earlier) in the&nbsp;<strong>Email address<\/strong> field. Ensure that you&#8217;ve provided <strong>Owner<\/strong> level <strong>Permission<\/strong>, and then click <strong>Add<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2074\" height=\"876\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/add-user-1.jpg\" alt=\"Add user as owner in Google Search Console\" class=\"wp-image-1087214\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, in a few moments, you should see the Service account listed as a new Owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2172\" height=\"786\" src=\"https:\/\/rankmath.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/new-user-added.jpg\" alt=\"Google Service account added to Google Search Console users\" class=\"wp-image-1087216\" style=\"width:900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"takeaway\">You can use a single<strong> Project<\/strong>, <strong>Service Account<\/strong>\u3001 \u3068 <strong>JSON API Key<\/strong> across multiple sites; just make sure that the Service Account is added as Owner for all the sites in the Search Console.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"configure-plugin\"><span class=\"number\">5<\/span>  Configure the Plugin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you&#8217;ve created the API key and added the service account to your search console property, you&#8217;re only left with configuring the Instant Indexing plugin on your WordPress site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"install-instant-indexing-plugin\"><span class=\"number\">5.1<\/span>  Install Instant Indexing Plugin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get the Instant Indexing plugin installed by uploading the plugin (you&#8217;ve downloaded in step 1) through the WordPress dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, you can install it through the WordPress Admin panel by navigating to Plugins \u2192 Add New.
